Michael Steele

Michael Steele is President at GLP Capital Partners (“GCP”) and serves as a member of GCP’s Executive and Global Investment Committees. Michael has nearly two decades of experience as a leading individual in the private equity industry with particular emphasis on high-profile private and public M&A, joint ventures and financings. Michael most recently served as GCP’s Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Legal Officer, and was previously a senior private equity partner at Kirkland & Ellis. Prior to Kirkland & Ellis, he was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Michael has played an instrumental role for GCP leading several of its global strategic initiatives and transactions, including GCP’s entry into Europe, the formation of GCP and GCP’s sale of its first three US funds to Blackstone in 2019 – the largest private real estate transaction ever at the time.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University in Australia.
